Vaughan and I started making our Christmas cake early in the morning on Christmas Eve, before it got too hot. Although Louie's shack had an oven, I decided to do the cake in the thermal cooker - to save gas and not add to the already hot temperatures.
After 25 minutes simmering on the stove, our wonderful creation was put into the thermal cooker at 10am and stayed there till after tea.
The end result was pretty good - even if I do say so myself!
